Dr. Van is the Director of Weight Management at WellOne Medical Centre and focuses her clinical practice on obesity and lifestyle medicine. She is a board-licensed physician of Family Medicine. She received her Doctorate of Medicine followed by a residency in Family Medicine with a focus in Obesity (Bariatric) Medicine at the University of Toronto. In addition to her clinical practice, she currently serves as a Communications & Media Director for the Canadian Obesity Network - Toronto Chapter.
With an underlying interest in mental health and cognitive behavioural therapy, Dr. Van focuses much of her practice on addressing the emotional and behavioural component of weight management. Her goal is to empower patients with evidence-based knowledge about optimal wellness, and in creating individualized plans for lifestyle skills that will promote weight control, healthy eating, active living and prevention of chronic disease.
Dr. Van is an advocate for weight destigmatization and the acknowledgement of obesity as a chronic, progressive, medical condition. As such, she also provides discussion regarding medication and surgical options for obesity treatment.

Dr. Van has just received Certification as an ABOM (American Board of Obesity Medicine) diplomate signifying specialized knowledge in the practice of obesity medicine and having achieved competency in obesity care.
